About Casey

Casey Schotter is a lifelong resident of District 5, bringing a unique blend of service, education, and real-world experience to his campaign for Black Hawk County Supervisor. After graduating from West High in 2003, Casey answered the call to serve his country, joining the U.S. Army and completing two tours in Iraq as an artilleryman and combat leader. Rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant, he provided critical protection for troops in West Baghdad, including counter-fire support and up-armored infantry escorts for Explosive Ordnance Disposal teams.

Following his military service, Casey pursued higher education with the same determination and resilience that have defined his life. He earned an Associate’s degree in Small Business Management, a Bachelor’s in Criminology, a Master’s in Sociology, and he is currently on the PhD track. His journey through diverse careers ranging from retail, security, and warehousing to teaching and serving as a professor gives him a practical, grounded perspective on the challenges facing everyday residents.

Casey has also dedicated himself to community service, volunteering at city events, blood drives, and political initiatives. He believes strongly in government’s role in maintaining infrastructure, safeguarding public health, and supporting public growth.

As a candidate, Casey is committed to building a sustainable future for Black Hawk County, ensuring reliable infrastructure, protecting clean water, supporting local law enforcement, and empowering Millennials and Generation Z to engage in politics and leadership. His campaign is not just about his service—it’s about strengthening the community he has always called home.
